Interested in the St Ives Gardening Club?

The success of the Hill Rise Allotment Association (HRAA) Produce show, in the refurbished St Ives Corn Exchange, September 2010, prompted a number of non allotmenteers to suggest that the HRAA might like to encourage Associate membership. From that seed came the idea to re-establish a gardening club in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, England

Through the HRAA and with the support of the St Ives In Bloom (SIIB) committee, the idea of a gardening club has now come to fruition. An 'interest meeting' was arranged to be held at the Free Church, Market Hill, on Monday 28th March 2011. The object of the meeting was to seek a sufficient number of interested people to enable the club to be formally set up under the auspices of HRAA. This meeting was extremely successful, and to date the St Ives Gardening Club boasts 40 members. The Gardening Club had its inaugural AGM on the 17th November and elected Linda Croucher as Chairperson and Robin Bletsoe as Treasurer and Membership Secretary. All the members of the Club are automatically enrolled as Associate Members of the HRAA at an annual subscription of £15.00.

In addition to developing a programme of talks/visits/Q&A meetings, like full members of HRAA, Gardening Club Members are be able to enjoy a 10% discount on purchases at a number of related outlets. Details are provided on reverse of the membership card
